First things first, it is important that you realize that every body is different. I have it on good authority that Sammantha- Jolie DiMaggio, 20, has a very high metabolism and burns calories quite quickly. However, that is not the only way to get a body she had as Venom. Second, this work out may not apply to everyone (since everyone has a different body and metabolism). And third, this work out may or may not appear to be working in weeks or possibly months but getting a hard, toned and strong body will not be easy to get anyways. Be patient and plan your time accordingly.
[If you've seen Spider- Girl 2 you know why she stars as both the villain and the hero. If not, basically May's (DiMaggio) blood drops into the alien symbiote left over by the Peter (Tobey Maguire) in Spider- Man 3. It then created a split image creature of May Parker a.k.a Spider- Girl.]
Perhaps it may help if I tell you just how long it took DiMaggio to get her toned body. DiMaggio also starred as May Parker/ Spider- Girl in all three Spider- Girl films. The first finished filming late November 2005. Since DiMaggio was 'fairly' toned for her first role she was already on a balanced diet and workout routine. Although the crew didn't start filming the sequel till early May 2006, DiMaggio did not get a break of work out sessions. So if you do the math it took her about six to eight months to get Venoms body.
Sammantha's Work Out
You must do this workout every day to get quicker results however, every other day is better than not doing it all. It is pretty tough (if you do it every day) but it will be worth it! STRETCH YOUR ENTIRE BODY BEFORE DOING ANY EXCERSISE ROUTINE!
Push Ups: This the most important upper body excersise. DiMaggio does not count how many push ups she does! She has her mp3 player (you can use yours or have the radio on) and does her push ups until the song is over. Songs can last from one minute to five minutes but DiMaggio always did her push ups to three and a half minute to four minute songs.
She does/did three different types of push ups. One for each song. She used push up bars(you can use flat sided weights), this helps ease the pain and stress on your wrists.
The first type was a straight push up with her hands parallel to her body. Do that for one entire song. Take a one minute break and drink water! For the next song adjust your push up bars so that they are horizontal to your chest (as if you were to do regular push ups.) Do that for another song. Rest by laying down on your back for one minute and drink water. Try to control your breathing. And finally and hardest keep your push up bars horizontal to your chest but move them under your ribs. Rotate your hands 180 degrees (the same way you would grip it if you were to do weight lifting excersises). Now lift yourself and do as many as you can. By doing this push up excersise you will develop your chest, triceps and bicep muscles and this will result in your upper body toning and strengthening. She also did basic pull ups and weight lifting.
Stomach: Sammantha- Jolie DiMaggio is the envy of many young women and the lustful target of many men because of her abdominals. Ladies, you can get this stomach too! DiMaggio did four different types of stomach crunches. She also did not count how many she did and instead used her mp3 player like the push up excersise above.
Type one is a basic crunch exercise. Lay down straight on the floor bend your knees and lift your chest straight up (as if someone attached a string to you and pulled you up). DO NOT CURL UP TO YOUR KNEES. That doesn't work. Do this excersise until the song ends. Rest for a minute.
Type two is also a basic crunch only this time put one leg over the other (ankle on knee). Put your hands behind your head. You will curl your upper body so that your elbow touches your knee. What ever leg is resting on the bent knee on the ground, your elbow of the opposite side will touch the knee. Left knee, right elbow. Right knee, left elbow. Do this for another song. Rest for a minute.
Type three is a little hard. Lay down straight on the floor. Put your hands under your butt and lift your legs straight into the air. This will work your lower abs and stomach muscles. Do this for another song and rest for one minute after. Remember to drink water.
Type four is a little harder. If you have an excersise ball this will help. If not lay down on your bed let your head hang off the edge. Put your hands behind your head but if you feel yourself slipping (by all means hold onto your bed). Lift your chest straight up and make sure your head stretches all the way back when you go back down. You will your upper abs and side muscles burn. This is probably the toughest curl up. Do this for an entire song and rest for a minute when you're done. DRINK WATER!
Back: Use your excersise ball or bed and lay on your stomach. Do the same motion you did for your crunches only this time you will lift your back straight up. You'll feel it burn from under shoulders to your hips. Do this for an entire song. When finished, rest for one minute and DRINK WATER!
Squats: Stand up straight and part your legs till they are linear to your shoulders. Stick your butt all the way out and bend your knees till they are at a 90 degree angle. Do this for 45 seconds in a fairly fast motion.
Running: DiMaggio reportedly ran half a mile once every day. Sounds easy, here's the catch; she ran up hills on her tippie toes. Walk down the hills. Running up hills are better for your knees and ultimatley your legs. Running down hills can cause problems in the future. Running on your tippie toes will develop balance and muscle in your calves and thighs. DRINK LOTS OF WATER AND WEAR GOOD RUNNING SHOES!
After your excersise routine, stretch AGAIN!
Sammantha- Jolie DiMaggio did this everyday for 6 to 8 months. Her pushup, crunch, back and squat routine, she did twice a day, oncee in the morning and once at night. Your body will ache tremendously when you first start but after the first week or so, you will no longer feel the pain. ALSO REMEMBER THE MINUTE DOING YOUR EXCERSISES FOR AN ENTIRE SONG GETS EASY, TRY EXTENDING IT TO HALF THE TIME OF ANOTHER. I know it's hard to imagine that you will be able to do it without any struggle or pain but believe me, you will!
Sammantha's Diet
DiMaggio stayed away from fried foods. She ate a lot of homemade turkey and cheese sandwhiches with mustard and little or no mayo. Sushi, eggs and rice, salads, Subway and vegetable soups are also on her menu. She snacked on bannana's, plums, peaches and white grapes. She subsituted yogurt for junk food and oven roasted almonds for chips. She drank lots of juices; grape, mango, pomegranate and fruit punch. On the go she drank tons of Powerade and water. Limit the amount of soda. She did not drink any alcoholic beverages.
On the weekends or special get togethers, however, she splurged on ice cream and other tastey foods. IT'S OKAY TO EAT JUNK FOOD! JUST BE IN CONTROL AND LIMIT YOURSELF. REMEMBER TO PUT IN AS MUCH HEALTHY FOODS AS YOU DO JUNK FOOD! There is no need to isolate yourself from the best foods on the planet!
Hopefully this workout routine helps. ALSO TO NOTE: THERE ARE OTHER EXCERSISES SAMMANTHA DID BUT I AM NOT SURE WHAT TYPES.
